Ocotepec, Chiapas, Mexico, April 2004, 1 week

[cmsms_row][cmsms_column data_width=”1/1″][cmsms_text]

Over 700 patients were examined and screened for cataract, glaucoma, refractive error and for other eye-diseases. Cataract and minor plastic surgeries were performed. Several hundred eyeglasses-mainly reading glasses and eye-drops were distributed. Medicines, clothing, school supplies and money was donated to the locals. The village medical doctor and nurses were involved in our work. 2 medical students from the capital of Chiapas, Tuxtla-Gutierrez worked with us for the full week. The local ophthalmologist from Tuxtla was invited to spend a day with us operating.
