Patient 1 year follow-up statistics 2009, Kedougou, Senegal

Quality assessment –Kedougou, Senegal mission 3/2009

 

Follow-up done during Kedougou, Senegal  mission 3/2010

Patients seen : 45 (out of 105)   26 male, 19 female

42 cataracts  extractions with IOL

41 done well, all have no/minimal pc haze (38 PC IOL, 3 AC IOL)

All have good/satisfactory distance and near vision.
(Patients made -1.00D)

1 done poorly – traumatic cataratc/PC rupture, kept on steroids by local eye-nurse for 1 year, developed secondary glaucoma

2 secondary IOL

1 done well

1 done poorly-had preexisting glaucoma, IOP of 25, developed end-stage glaucoma from secondary IOL-poor patient selection

1 ptosis – done very well, got married since
