In a powerful collaboration to combat avoidable blindness, the Tamale Eye Hospital team, with the support of Right to Sight and Health, carried out 103 cataract surgeries at the Zebilla District Hospital.

Many of the beneficiaries were bilaterally blind, having lived for years without sight due to a lack of access to proper eye care — a situation worsened by prolonged tribal conflict in the nearby Bawku area. For these individuals, the outreach meant more than just surgery; it meant the chance to see loved ones again, return to work, and regain independence.

This effort is part of our shared commitment to reaching underserved communities, especially those affected by conflict and healthcare inequality. Each surgery is a step toward restoring not just sight but also dignity and hope.

We extend our gratitude to the entire team, our partners, and everyone who supports our mission to bring vision to the vulnerable.
